A familiar name has been selected to lead the Huron-Bruce Federal Liberal Association.
The appointment of former North Huron Councillor Greg McClinchey’s appointment comes shortly after the party’s third-place finish in last month’s election.
McClinchey replaces James Scongack just four weeks after Grit candidate Charlie Bagnato finished behind Conservative Ben Lobb and New Democrat Grant Robertson.
McClinchey is no stranger to federal politics with 18 years experience as a member of the Association and as a Liberal candidate in the 2008 election won by Lobb.
He acknowledges the Liberals have much work to do nationwide and here at home in the wake of the May 2nd election in which the party had one of its weakest showings ever.
McClinchey credits Scongack for building up Liberal membership in Huron-Bruce and that the Association has built what he calls a “robust agenda” for the next four years.
