Whether it’s because we’ll avoid another federal election, or because it’s what they wanted, most people are happy with a majority Conservative government.
In a recent online survey done by Bayshore Broadcasting News, 54 per cent of respondents say a majority Conservative government will work well.
One person tells us it’s something that should have happened years ago, while another says the Conservatives had been doing a fine job and now they can get on with the business of running the country.
Another six per cent say they’re just happy we won’t head back to the polls for at least four years.
But there are still 40 per cent of people who are not happy, and believe our country will get into trouble.
Some are worried about Prime Minister Stephen Harper holding too much power — with one person calling it “plain frightening.”
They say the appointment of Senate seats is just the beginning of a “dictatorship.”
Others are worried about the money Harper will spend on fighter jets, which is something they say Canadians will suffer for needlessly.
