The Cops for Cancer event in Owen Sound turned into a huge success.
Despite the thunderstorms Saturday morning, about 30 people participated in the fundraiser at Boston Pizza.
About 26 thousand dollars was raised yesterday for the campaign.
The Taylor family had five people participate in the shave off.
Three women — Karmen Krueger, Linda Kinzie and Brandy Oldham called themselves the “Moms for Moms” team and raised more than six thousand dollars while losing their hair.
Bayshore Broadcasting’s very own Dan McLean also shaved his head.
McLean says he knows several people who have lost loved ones to cancer and shaving his head was one way he thought he could help others.
Close to 100 thousand dollars has been raised in this Cops for Cancer campaign across Grey Bruce.
The goal of this year’s campaign is 185 thousand dollars and the money will go to cancer research and to support families who are dealing with cancer.
