The Town of Saugeen Shores wants to get you walking.
Today is Walking Festival Day, and there are many activities going on throughout the town to get you active and encourage a healthy lifestyle.
Event Organizer Michael Hundt says the events include the Huron Shores run at that starts at 10 AM, and a Teddy Bear Picnic and Parade at North Shore Park.
There is also a sunset heritage walk in Southampton.
Hundt says MacGregor Point Provincial Park has a number of activities planned as well.
You can download the “Old Shore Road” audio trail guide, and walk a guided seven kilometres.
There is also the Amazing Race contest taking place during the day.
Hundt says the goal is to get people active in the community, because 62 per cent of Grey-Bruce residents are overweight or obese, compared to 52 per cent of people province-wide.
