For thousands of homes in Bruce and Grey Counties — it will be several hours before electricity is fully restored.
Saturday morning’s severe thunderstorms knocked out power to 15 thousand homes.
Hydro One and Westario Power both say it will be 9 PM or 10 PM tonight at the earliest before electricity is fully restored in the region.
Most of the homes still in the dark are in Port Elgin and Kincardine — but there are homes in Tobermory, Wiarton, Durham, Chesley and Clarksburg in the dark.
The severe thunderstorms also caused quite a bit of damage.
South Bruce OPP report they have seen downed trees and hydro poles and hydro lines in North Bruce and near the town of Paisley .
There are also barns in the Chesley area that were destroyed by Saturday morning’s severe thunderstorms.
Police say some roads are physically impassable because of debris on the roads — and motorists in the area are encouraged to slow down.
Several Bruce County homes also experienced flooding from Saturday morning’s storms.
Bayshore Broadcasting News has talked to several residents who say they spotted water spouts and funnel clouds during the storm.
But Environment Canada has not confirmed whether a tornado touched down on Saturday morning.
