Residents around the Lion’s Head Harbour are expected to be allowed back into their homes and cottages this morning.
They were evacuated Friday night, after a boat explosion at the Lion’s Head Harbour.
Bruce Peninsula OPP say around 7:40 PM — a 42 foot wooden boat exploded and sank while tied to the dock.
Two men who were on the vessel at the time were able to get off the boat.
They sustained minor injuries.
A fire did burn for a short time, and the Northern Bruce Peninsula Frie Department was called and the fire was put out.
Police say a quantity of fuel was released into the harbour waters due to the boat’s sinking.
Cottagers were evacuated as a precaution.
OPP continue their investigation, and the Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office has been called in to determine the cause of the explosion.
