Six teenagers face charges in a vicious assault at Grey Highlands Secondary School in Flesherton.
Grey County OPP have completed a comprehensive investigation into an incident May 25th over the lunch hour.
The assault was captured on video by a student, and posted for a period of time on “YouTube”.
The cell phone owner is one of those charged in connection with his involvement.
OPP Constable Steve Starr says the video, shows what can only be described as shameless and cowardly behaviour.
It opens as two female students approach another, seated in front of the school as several other students look on, concerning an unresolved grievance.
Without warning she is forcefully kicked in the side of the face and sustains multiple blows as the two attackers continue the assault.
One female bystander tried to intervene but was viciously assaulted by another female watching the situation unfold.
As the brutal assault continues onlookers can be heard laughing in the background and encouraging more brutality.
Detachment commander Bob Mahlberg says behaviour like this has no place in our schools.
Mahlberg adds he is sickened by the video.
The six youths, ranging in age from 15 to 17 years old, are all from Southgate Township.
Charges include assault, counselling an indictable offence and causing a disturbance.
Their first appearance is scheduled for July 12th in the Youth Court in Owen Sound.
