With the Ontario election campaign on the horizon, Ontario Progressive Conservative leader Tim Hudak claims he has no worries about the riding of Bruce Grey Owen Sound.
Hudak says outgoing MPP Bill Murdoch has been a solid performer and was guaranteed a win each time he ran, and his Tory replacement Bill Walker will hold onto the riding.
The P-C leader says despite what happened in the Federal election with an “orange crush” in many parts of the country, he doesn’t see the NDP getting a surge in support for the provincial election.
Hudak believes it will be a clear choice between his tax cutting ways, and higher taxes under Liberal Premier Dalton McGuinty.
Murdoch is retiring this fall after serving 21 years as an MPP.
There is a retirement party for Murdoch being held on Friday.
This past week, Hudak promised to remove the provincial portion of the HST from Hydro and home heating bills.
When pressed by Bayshore Broadcasting News about whether he would remove the HST from gasoline, Hudak would only say more announcements are coming as we get closer to the election.
