Brockton has approved the site plan agreement for a new Hotel in Walkerton.
Economic Development Committee Chair Mike McIntee says the shovel will hit the ground on the new Best Western Hotel project very soon.
The luxury 50 room hotel will feature a banquet hall, indoor pool and fitness centre.
With the site plan approval in place, McIntee says the project will go to tender soon.
He says once the shovel hits the ground the project should take about 8 to 9 months to complete.
McIntee says a lot of hard work and planning has gone into this project and calls it very exciting to see the project start to take shape after all these years.
It’s hoped the hotel will also serve as a catalyst for a restaurant chain, which will bring even more jobs to the area.
Whatever the case, Brockton officials are very pleased with the project and eager to see it get underway.
