With the federal election just days away, the Liberals welcomed a political heavy weight to Bruce Grey Owen Sound and Simcoe Grey.
Liberal Critic for Democratic Renewal and St. Paul’s M-P Doctor Carolyn Bennett was in both ridings today.
At Kimberly Love’s campaign office in Owen Sound, Bennett spoke about the Liberal Health Care platform and National Food strategy.
Bennett also talked about the recent act of vandalism the liberals campaign received over the weekend in her riding as constituents had their cars keyed and tires slashed.
Bennett says it follows an incident in 2008 where constituents had their brake lines cut.
Bennett believes the incident in her riding was done by anarchists who hate Liberals.
Also over the weekend, vandals defaced Kimberley Love’s campaign signs in Bruce Grey Owen Sound with racial slurs.
Love believes the acts of vandalism are breed from the suppression of democracy.
Love’s says she’s not surprised to see this kind of activity considering we have a government that demonstrates a mean spirited bullying approach to politics and she feel’s that mentality has trickled down into the grassroots level.
