Times are changing and the LCBO wants to change with the times in Owen Sound.
The liquor store is planning on building a new 12 thousand square foot facility at 9th Avenue East at 16th Street East, next to the Zehrs store.
Spokesperson Chris Layton says the “large format store” will be about 3 times the current store size in Owen Sound.
It will allow a greatly expanded product line, including a larger Ontario wine selection and larger chilled display area.
Layton says they have simply outgrown the 1962 facility on 2nd Avenue East.
The LCBO owns the current location, but no decision has been made on whether to lease it or sell it, once the new store is open in the spring of 2012.
