Councillors in Georgian Bluffs will meet tonight with their counterparts in South Bruce Peninsula.
Georgian Bluffs has intended to get together with its neighbouring municipalities to talk about matters of mutual interest, but that hasn’t been possible before now because of conflicting schedules.
South Bruce Peninsula Council will visit Georgian Bluffs tonight.
Georgian Bluffs Mayor Alan Barfoot says there are a number of matters that need to be discussed.
Barfoot says those items include boundary road issues and the Wiarton-Keppel Airport, which is jointly owned by the two municipalities.
Barfoot says it’s also a chance simply for the two groups of politicians to meet and get to know each other — since South Bruce Peninsula Council is entirely new.
After the meeting with South Bruce Peninsula, Georgian Bluffs would like to also get together with Owen Sound council for the same purpose.
The township and the city already have a joint task force that meets somewhat regularly, but Georgian Bluffs would prefer a full meeting of both councils.
