Sacred Heart High School Students will be receiving an important lesson today on how to treat others.
Motivational speaker Ian Tyson will be at Sacred Heart High School this morning to share a message of anti bullying and the importance of a positive school environment.
Student Trustee Matthew McLean says despite the best of efforts bullying still happens in schools.
He says initiatives such as this one are aimed at educating students about the various forms of bullying and why it is no longer accepted.
McLean is optimistic todays event will go a long way in promoting an anti-bullying environment at Sacred Heart High School.
He says bullying comes in many forms and students need to be armed with the right information on how to handle it.
Todays Anti-Bullying message is a student initiative.
McLean says this is a student effort to rid the school of bullying.
Unfortunately, he says there are still some students that dread going to school due to bullying.
With enough effort, McLean says this is an issue that can hopefully become a problem of the past.
