Georgian Bluffs is not interested in helping Owen Sound pay for a study into hybrid policing.
The city asked the township to help pay for a study which would determine the feasibility of a joint police service between the two municipalities.
But Georgian Bluffs Council has said No.
Mayor Alan Barfoot says council will consider a hybrid policing model if the city pays for the study and presents it to Georgian Bluffs, but that’s as far as the township is willing to go.
He says Council is satisfied with the amount of money it pays for policing by the OPP.
Barfoot says any proposal made by the city for a joint police service will have to do better than what Georgian Bluffs already has.
Owen Sound has expressed interest in hybrid policing as one way of sharing services and perhaps reducing operating costs for both the city and the township.
