Today is Earth Day and there are several activities taking place around the region.
Emma Hogbin the Bruce Grey Owen Sound Federal Green candidate will be cleaning up a section of downtown Owen Sound.
Hogbin and a number of residents are “Reclaiming the Riverside” from 9 AM to Noon.
The area is located on 1st Avenue East between 10th and 9th Streets East.
This is also the start of the Goods Exchange Weekend in Saugeen Shores, where residents can put their unwanted items are the curb for others to take today and tomorrow.
The Trees for Saugeen group are fundraising for tree planting programs throughout Port Elgin, Saugeen Township and Southampton.
The group has an opportunity to bulk buy some huge trees for locals parks, so they are hoping residents can put in orders by Wednesday April 27th.
