The Ontario Green party is gathered in Huntsville this weekend for the Annual General meeting and policy convention.
Leader Mike Schreiner says unfortunately, attendance will be down because many green party supporters are helping in the Federal election campaign.
Schreiner says about 100 members are debating policies for the party, and he is confident the Green party can make a break-thru this fall and get some seats in the Ontario legislature.
He claims the Green party did well in Bruce Grey Owen Sound the last Ontario election and Schreiner says they have many policies that rural voters like.
Schreiner admits the Green party doesn’t have a lot of money for an election campaign, but hitting the pavement will get the message out, in door to door meetings with voters.
The Green party AGM is being held at the Delta Grandview Hotel in Huntsville.
Schreiner will deliver the leaders address at 1 PM on Saturday, although the convention runs thru Sunday.
