A close call for two youth climbing the escarpment in Walkerton.
South Bruce OPP were called to Lobie’s Park on Wednesday and found two youth climbing the escarpment along the edge of the Saugeen River.
Officers quickly removed the youth from the steep and sandy area leading to the swollen and fast moving River.
Both youth were warned about the danger that they put themselves in.
If either youth had the lost their footing in the sand, Police say this could easily have had a tragic ending.
Parents are asked to speak with their youth about the importance of staying away from the river at this time of year.
