Saugeen Shores/Arran Elderslie trustee with the Bluewater District School Board believes the communication lines between itself and the general public are opening up.
Kevin Larson says a new communications policy is in the works that will make it much easier for concerned parents to bring their issues to the table.
Larson says the policy is a generic document with detail in the administrative procedure for parent or community concerns and the other is for procedure for trustee/administration interactions and the expectations.
He says it spells out who does what.
Larson says they’re trying to create the transparency in communications and the honesty in dealing with concerns fairly, when they are presented.
He says in the past the board and administration were both criticized for not following such a procedure.
He says a communication policy was on the web but was buried so that a parent couldn’t possibly find it.
Larson says the new policy will be easy to find named Addressing Parent and Community Concerns.
