Everybody interested in cycling is being called to a meeting tonight in Saugeen Shores.
The Saugeen Shores Cycling Club is trying to officially get off the ground for its first year.
Spokesperson Brett Martin says last spring and summer, a group of cyclist started getting together every Thursday to go for one to two hour rides.
And from there, another group formed for people who were new to the sport.
Martin says the club is now trying to organize all of those people together and form an official affiliate with the Ontario Cycling Association.
Martin says they’re inviting all skill levels, including beginners, to participate in weekly group rides.
An information meeting is taking place tonight at the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre in Southampton for those interested.
Martin says this is just a start for the club. He hopes they can stage some road races and attract bigger events to Saugeen Shores, where cyclist would come from across the country or even the world to take part.
Tonight’s meeting begins at 7 PM.
