The workers at the Bruce nuclear generating station in Tiverton are helping those who work at the crippled Fukushima nuclear plant in Japan.
Bruce Power and its employees raised more than 80 thousand dollars during a two hour campaign on Tuesday morning.
A site-wide gate collection collected roughly 41 thousand dollars — and Bruce Power matched the employees donations dollar for dollar.
That figure is expected to rise as employees have until Friday to contribute to the fundraising effort.
Bruce Power spokesperson John Peevers says all money will go directly to the workers of the Fukushima plant in Japan and their families, who have suffered devastating losses as a result of the earthquake and tsunami.
