Kincardine’s municipal administration building is getting a new roof to replace the leaky one they have right now, but it’s a bit pricier than at first thought.
270 thousand dollars was set aside for the project and the low tender came in under that at just over 266 thousand dollars.
However when you factor in advertising costs for tenders, along with a 10 thousand dollar engineering bill, the project cost is almost 277 thousand dollars.
The seven thousand dollar overrun will be worked into the 2011 budget.
The tender went to Triumph Aluminum and Sheet Metal of Toronto.
Kincardine council approved the expense at a recent council meeting.
The replacement is expected to start in the weeks ahead.
