There is already a new Executive Director in place at Habitat for Humanity Grey-Bruce.
Greg Fryer is taking over the position that Dennis Scott has stepped down from.
Scott’s announcement came late Monday — following news over the weekend that he would be stepping down as Chair of the Owen Sound Emancipation Festival.
Fryer says Scott is leaving for personal reasons, but Scott is not discussing his decision.
Fryer says the organization is sad that it didn’t work out with Scott, and that he couldn’t stay longer — but at the same time they recognize he needs to move on.
Fryer says Habitat for Humanity will continue to look forward and work on their next project, which is an eight-unit affordable housing project in Hanover.
He adds there will be no slowing down.
Fryer has served as Board Chair for Habitat since 2009, and says he has worked closely with Dennis Scott so he has a firm grasp on the work ahead of him.
