The annual Bowl for Big Brothers wrapped up Saturday afternoon at Westside Bowl in Owen Sound
Organizers of the event anticipate close to 20 thousand dollars was raised in the annual fundraiser which is the major fundraiser for the local Big Brothers Chapter on the year.
There are three different revenue streams for the fundraiser
Pledges on bowlers participating, sponsorship of signs for each of the 20 lanes at Westside Bowl.
Plus the annual Pre-bowl event at Pizza Hut-Taco Bell in Owen Sound generated 15 hundred dollars funds to the overall program.
Big Brothers officials estimate about 12 thousand dollars came from the bowlers who participated Saturday afternoon, with some bowlers accumulating more than 600 dollars in pledges plus a couple of business teams combined to raise one thousand dollars or better.
A final tally from Big Brothers will be announced within a couple of weeks.
