The annual Bowl for Big Brothers wrapped up Saturday afternoon at Westside Bowl in Owen Sound
Organizers of the event anticipate close to $ 20,000 was raised in the annual fundraiser which is the major fundraiser for the local Big Brothers Chapter on the year.
There are 3 different revenue streams for the fundraiser
Pledges on bowlers participating, sponsorship of signs for each of the 20 lanes at Westside Bowl plus the annual Pre-bowl event at Pizza Hut-Taco Bell in Owen Sound all generate funds to the overall program.
Big Brothers officials estimate more than $ 10,000 came from the bowlers who participated this afternoon, with some bowlers accumulating more than $ 600 in pledges plus a couple of business teams combined to raise $ 1,000 or better
A final tally from Big Brothers will be announced within a couple of weeks.
