St. Mary’s High School Student Trustee Charlotte Curley is a mission. She wants her school to be water bottle free.
Curley is urging the school to remove bottled water from the cafeteria and vending machines.
Curley is also taking her message to her fellow students in the hopes they will support this initiative.
Curley says students have a responsibility to make smart environmentally friendly choices.
She says bottled water hurts the environment as well as the wallet.
Curley admits her message may be met with resistance, but as with any change, she says it’s going to take time.
Curley is currently talking with the schools vice principal over the bottled water issue.
She’s also kicking off a “Bottled Water Awareness Week” at St. Mary’s high school in early March.
Curley hopes students will welcome her message and begin using reusable water bottles instead of disposable bottles.
