The McLaren Pipe and Drum Band at the Wiarton legion is celebrating a 15 thousand dollar grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
The grant will be used to purchase new uniforms, bagpipes and drums for the band in an attempt to increase participation in the community.
Bruce Grey Owen Sound MPP Murdoch says it will be a special treat to see the pipe band outfitted in there new gear in the coming months.
The band consists of 12 full time, and 10 part time members.
You can look for the pipe band to be performing at places such as nursing homes, parades and cenotaphs within the Bruce Peninsula and at various special events.
