Kincardine Fire Department is getting a new pumper truck.
Council agreed to the purchase at a recent meeting.
In his report, Fire Chief Jamie MacKinnon says the Spartan Pumper Truck will cost almost $440,000; ten thousand dollars under budget.
The new vehicle will replace at 1988 model at the Kincardine Fire station.
Chief MacKinnon says research shows most fire trucks last about 20 years, perhaps a little longer with good maintenance.
Funding for the purchase was approved in the 2010 capital budget.
The project will not impact the 2011 tax rate.
