The Bruce Peninsula OPP is conducting an investigation after a vehicle was struck by a bullet.
The incident occurred Friday just after 7 AM on Highway 6 near the wind turbines just south of the Northern Bruce Peninsula community of Ferndale.
A motorist was travelling southbound on the highway took note of two pickup trucks on the shoulder – both were white and believed to be GMC or Chevrolet pickup trucks with no caps or other distinguishing features.
As the motorist passed the trucks he heard a bang.
After inspecting his truck, the motorist discovered some unusual damage which was later determined by the OPP to be a bullet hole.
Officers recovered a bullet from the interior of the truck – which is believed to be from a high calibre hunting rifle.
Investigators believe there were hunters in the area at the time of the incident.
An officer attended the Ferndale area shortly after the incident was reported – but the two pickups described the motorist had left the area.
