The Metis Nation of Ontario is partnering with the Grey-Bruce Diabetes Program and Osteoporosis Canada for a special day in Owen Sound.
Today is “Diabetes Day at the Mall,” and you can learn everything you want to know about the disease at Heritage Place Mall in Owen Sound.
Displays and staff from the organizations will be available to answer your questions.
Free screening will also be available.
The dangers of diabetes can be deadly.
The disease can lead to stroke, heart or kidney disease, blindness, and it is the leading reason for amputation.
It’s estimated three million people in Canada have diabetes, and six million have pre-diabetes — and that one-third of these cases are not diagnosed.
The display will be set up from 10 AM until 7 PM today.
