When it comes to health care — the Hanover and District Hospital is getting a passing grade.
The results of the Hanover Hospital’s Quality Governance Balanced Report Card are in.
The score card measured everything from patient care to quality of work life.
This includes Emergency Room wait times and surgical case loads to employee absenteeism and turnover rates.
Overall, Hospital CEO Katrina Wilson says the hospital faired very well.
E-R wait times and day surgery volumes scored top marks, as did employee sick time and ambulatory visits.
The hospital did receive some lower scores involving patient stay times and volumes.
Wilson blames that on low patient census — since their patient numbers are down, the patient stay times and volumes will also reflect that.
She says the hospital uses this report card as motivational tool to compare Hanover’s benchmarks to that of the province as well as other hospitals of similar size.
Wilson says the score card enables the hospital to identify trend analysis to ensure it is meeting the needs of patients.
