The passing of Bill C-343 in Parliament has raised the shackles of Bruce Grey Owen Sound MP Larry Miller.
The Conservative MP is disgusted that the opposition parties passed this bill by a vote of 151 to 138.
The bill was an act to amend the Canada Labour code and Employment Insurance Act.
It would allow employees to take an unpaid leave and then be eligible to collect EI benefits if their minor Child is injured of killed during the commission of a criminal offence.
MP Larry Miller says he is outraged that Canadian Taxpayers would be expected to foot the bill for parents to first — take leave, and second — collect employment insurance because of direct criminal actions of their offspring.
