The Bruce Grey MedQUEST Health Careers Exploration Program is ramping up for its sixth year.
Chair Myrna Inglis says the application period opened up on February the 1st, and they’re taking submissions from Grade 10 and 11 students on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The program is a one-week camp this summer to give students hands-on experience in the health care industry.
They will work alongside medical students and health care professionals, through interactive workshops and simulations to get a feel for what it would be like to work in the health care industry.
It is put on in conjunction with the University of Western Ontario’s Schulich School of Medicine.
Inglis encourages students to get online and read the requirements to apply.
She says it’s pretty straightforward but students do need to have their immunization records up to date, and that may take some time to do.
You can find the website at www.medquestwestern.ca.
Inglis says they are accepting 30 students.
The application deadline is March 16th.
The MedQUEST camp runs from July 11th to 15th this year.
