Habitat for Humanity Grey Bruce is asking local municipalities to donate land to build on.
Executive Director Dennis Scott says they are seeking serviceable land to construct donated houses on.
The homes are pre-fabricated and are part of a promotional presentation from a new Canadian Manufacturer.
Scott says Habitat is thrilled that the initiative will allow them to house 8 families in either Grey or Bruce.
For now Scott says their volunteers will do the “fine construction work,” but eventually volunteers will do the actual pre-fabrication themselves.
He says they don’t want to take anything away from the “Habitat experience” that volunteers seek.
Habitat for Humanity Grey Bruce sent out formal requests today (Thur) to each municipality in Grey Bruce requesting serviceable land.
Earlier this week they announced a $1.1 million dollar 8 unit condominium build in Hanover.
