It was a good year for building in Kincardine in 2010.
Building and Planning Manager Michele Barr says in 2010, 269 building permits were issued compared to 253 in 2009.
Barr says the value last year was 27.2 million dollars compared to only 19.1 million in 2009.
She says the bulk of the increase comes in the construction of single detached homes.
Barr says 51 new homes were built while in 2009, that number was only 35.
She says it pretty well doubled the value of the construction of the single detached.
Barr is encouraged with 2011 as well.
She says the municipality is expecting some commercial development this year, along with an increase in subdivision development.
