One funding of 78 thousand dollars is coming to the Owen Sound hospital to help cut wait times for MRI’s.
President and CEO of Grey Bruce Health service, Maureen Solecki is pleased the hospital is getting the grant from the southwest LHIN ….
She tells Bayshore broadcasting news the money means they can expand use of the equipment at the hospital from18 hours a day to 24 hours a day.
That will mean an additional 500 MRI exams a year and Solecki says that should reduce the current 6 week average wait time at the Owen Sound hospital.
The President and CEO of Grey Bruce Health service says it doesn’t mean any new jobs, but some part time staff will be getting more hours.
The grant only affects the Owen Sound hospital (in the GBHS cluster).
In total, the southwest LHIN is handing out one time funding of 1.4 milllion dollars to hospitals in southern Ontario.
