Despite a struggling economy, Hanover managed to have a decent year of building activity in 2010.
The town issued 120 building permits with a construction value of 8.2 million dollars.
That is down considerably from the 18 million dollars in 2009 — but a large chunk of that number was for the new P and H Centre.
Chief Building Official Don Tedford feels the town has faired well in the recession.
Of the 120 permits issued — 17 were for new homes and 14 for commercial and residential development and renovations.
As for 2011, Tedford is anticipating a busy year for Hanover.
The town is looking forward to a 47 unit condominium project, the completion of the new Honda Dealership, a new build from Wightman’s Telecom and a major renovation at McDonald’s.
