A 78 year old Owen Sound woman is recovering from minor injuries after being hit by a car.
The woman was downtown around 10:40 AM on Monday and crossed 8th Street East at the crosswalk of 2nd Ave East.
At the same time, a 26 year old Wiarton woman made a left hand turn onto 8th Street, hitting the pedestrian.
The victim was taken to hospital and treated from cuts and bruises … but Owen Sound police say her injuries appear to be relatively minor.
An investigation showed the driver of the minivan was not wearing her corrective lenses, which is a condition of her driver’s licence.
She has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with driving a motor vehicle in contravention of conditions, as well as failing to yield for a pedestrian.
