Saugeen Shores Councillor Fred Schildroth hopes it’s just a miscommunication.
Schildroth was reacting to a Bayshore Broadcasting News report recently from Nicola Bruce, a Saugeen District Secondary School rep on the Bluewater Board of Education.
Bruce stated there was confusion in the schools as to what can and cannot be recycled since the changeover on January 1st.
Schildroth, the town’s rep on the Bruce Area Solid Waste Recycling board, says they have put out flyers and information throughout the community about the additional items that can now be recycled.
He says the program appears to be working well in the community at large and hopes the school issue is one that can be cleared up with some communication.

Included are things like those plastic egg carton’s, certain plastic pails, single serve plastic cups, hard potato chip containers, and those cleaning containers like the ones used by Comet.
