Kincardine resident David Colling paints a dreary picture for the region’s future if wind turbine farms continue to proliferate.
Colling has tested hundreds of homes near wind farms for what is called “dirty electricity” and he says it’s not pretty.
Colling told Kincardine Council on Wednesday that people are sick from the sound waves of the turbines and electromagnetic waves, made up of dirty electricity and ground current.
Colling says he knows of several families that have left their homes in the Ripley area because of nearby turbine farms.
He says in some homes the waves are so intense he says it’s like living in a microwave.
Colling does admit there has been no medical proof of the reported sicknesses nor has he ever spoken to a doctor in the region when doing his studies.
He says he comes to Kincardine council only to make them aware of the other side of the story on turbine farms and to be armed with the information as more turbines are set up in the area.
Councillor Maureen Couture says she’s concerned that there has been no definitive health study done on the issue and calls on the province to consider it.
Mayor Larry Kraemer says based on this presentation he would like to invite the companies to come tell their story as well.
He says he was surprised that no one from Enbridge or Acciona was in attendance.
