Hanover has been chosen as one of the stops for the province’s roundtable discussions on rural health care.
Within the next few weeks — representatives from the Ministry of Health will be in Hanover to seek the public’s help in identifying and understanding the health care challenges that face rural communities.
The Ministrys Rural and Northern Health Care Panel has released a report that identifies a vision for the Rural and Northern Health Care Framework and contains 12 recommendations for consultation.
They are now seeking public input on the matter.
Hanover Hospital Chair Allan Fisher urges residents to attend.
Fisher says the community must rally behind the hospital to ensure the province realizes how much support the hospital has.
Fisher warns a low public turnout will send the wrong message and could result in future health care cuts.
Hanover Mayor Kathi Maskell says it’s imperative the community show their support for the hospital by attending the event.
Both the town and Hospital are awaiting confirmation on the date the roundtable discussion will come to Hanover.
