2010 was a solid year for new construction in the township of Georgian Bluffs.
Chief Building official, Bill Klingenberg, says the total value of permits issued last year was 21.5 million dollars compared with 16 million in 2009.
Klingenberg says a couple of projects helped to boost the total value of construction, one being the biodigester shared with Chatsworth, and a new automotive dealership.
The biodigester alone was worth 3.1 million dollars.
In total, there were 238 building permits issued in 2010 with 45 of those being for new homes.
In 2009, only 35 new homes were built in the township.
