Officials in Bruce, Grey and Huron Counties are talking about coyotes.
They met Tuesday in Owen Sound to talk about the issue — but they are not the only ones talking.
The MPP for Bruce Grey Owen Sound wants the Province to do something about coyotes.
Bill Murdoch is inviting constituents to drop by his Owen Sound office to sign a petition calling on the Provincial Government to control coyote attacks through a province-wide bounty program.
The petition calls for a 200 dollar bounty to be paid by Queen’s Park.
Murdoch says the current system is too cumbersome.
As it stands now – every time a farm animal is killed by a predator in Ontario, a valuator is called in to determine if the municipality should reimburse the farmer – with each municipality having its own reimbursement rate.
Murdoch would like to see a uniform bounty for all of Ontario.
