Growth continues in Saugeen Shores.
Chief Building Official Jim Bell says construction values for the 2010 year hit 49 million dollars.
He says that’s up considerably from 2009, when values were at 34 million dollars.
Bell says the increase was in the number of single-family dwellings, and multi-residential units.
He says it’s showing that development is on the upswing, and he’s confident it will continue into the spring of 2011.
While things typically slow down in January, Bell says they do have some applications in for building permits for new homes.
He says everything looks promising.
In total, 296 permits were issued in 2010, up from the 275 issued in 2009.
