The Mission Zimbabwe project from Hanover is getting organized for their 2011 trip.
Barry Mutrie — the team leader for the project — notes over the years they have travelled to the Village of Hope in Zimbabwe and helped build and teach the residents.
Mutrie says the project has three main goals; raise funds to support two orphanages in the village, attend the village to see how the funds are being used help them build and then to sponsor children that live in the village.
In the last four years they have had anywhere between 8 and 12 volunteers go on the mission.
This year they are looking for participants interested in the May 5th to 21st mission.
Mutrie says participants need to understand that this is not a vacation but rather a service to the community in a Christian setting.
And although there are continuous fundraising efforts towards the mission Mutrie wants those who volunteer to know they are responsible for the 3-thousand dollars needed to fund their trip.
Mutrie says participating in the mission can be life altering and would be beneficial to anyone from a teen to an older individual.
