The City of Owen Sound is going to consider a number of options with regards to the future of Coliseum at Victoria Park.
It’s been thought the structure would be demolished upon the completion of the 38.6 million dollar Regional Rec Centre.
But Mayor Deb Haswell says if one or more viable uses can be found for the building, it may survive.
Haswell tells Bayshore Broadcasting News the Rec Centre steering committee is considering a number of options for Coliseum.
She says a number of groups have come forward with suggestions.
Those ideas include making it just a recreational facility without the ice.
As we first told you this morning — the City has announced the twin pad arena portion of the Rec Centre will be open in November, months ahead of schedule.
The 38.6 million dollar facility will not be entirely complete until the spring of 2012, and an official opening won’t take place until then.
