Owen Sound Mayor Deb Haswell is ready to talk about the 2011 Budget.
City Council will be getting an early start on their finances as they plan to open the books in January.
Haswell says Council will be looking at the level of services offered by the City and how they can provide those services at a lower cost.
Haswell adds the current council is prepared to take an in depth look at the budget and look for ways the City can trim costs without affecting services.
She specifically points to snow removal saying it’s very expensive to keep up what she says is among the finest snow removal crews in Ontario.
Haswell adds they are getting an early start on the budget simply to keep costs down on projects planned for 2011.
She says the longer you wait on large scale infrastructure projects – the higher the price to complete those projects.
She also says municipalities everywhere need a stable source of infrastructure funding from senior levels of government.
