With a few disappointments gnawing at him — Bruce Grey Owen Sound MP Larry Miller says 2010 was a good year for him and the Conservative Government.
On the CFOS Open Line, Miller took on his critics and boasted about the successes of the past year.
The fact that the Conservative minority government has survived for as long as it has is something Miller is proud of.
He adds those who have criticized the Tories for not getting along with the opposition clearly do not realize the diplomatic skill needed to maintain a minority government for 6 years.
Miller did take aim at Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff and NDP Leader Jack Layton for their statements regarding the upcoming federal budget.
He says it’s “irresponsible” for them to announce they’re opposition to the budget without seeing it first.
Another sore point for Miller was the failure to get rid of the Long Gun Registry.
He says those who said they would vote it out during the last election campaign will “pay pretty dearly” for changing their minds and voting in favour of the registry.
Miller also says the Canada Pension Plan cannot continue as is — adding if it is left unchanged the country will go broke.
