It’s been around five years but the funds have now been raised for the accessible playground and sensory garden in Southampton.
The committee for the Jubilee Park project announced they hit their goal of 350 thousand dollars raised at the last council meeting before the holiday break.
Fundraising Chair Mini Jacques says two cheques from the Chambettes and from the two fire stations in Saugeen Shores brought them to the end of the campaign.
Jacques says the park and garden is the first of its kind in the region and was a big hit this year drawing people from all over the region including Kitchener, Stratford and London.
Jacques credits everyone in the community including local groups, organizations, Saugeen Shores Council and Saugeen Shores firefighters.
