The new HST on hydro bills is leaving many Brockton residents struggling.
As a result — Brockton Council is calling on the province to drop the HST from hydro bills.
Councillor Chris Peabody says there is strength in numbers and if enough municipalities place pressure on the province — they may cave on the issue.
He adds the upcoming election may be another trump card in their fight.
Peabody says the HST is creating an unnecessary financial burden on many struggling families.
Peabody adds its unfair to subject residents to the HST on such an essential service such as electricity.
