The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 6 has notified the City of Owen Sound that they will not conducting their annual Christmas Tree Pick Up this year.
The decision was made by the Legion as they have been having some problems obtaining trucks, drivers, and volunteers.
As a result, the City of Owen Sound has asked that all residents do not leave their trees on the nearest street corner as they have in the past.
Instead, you are asked to take your tree to the Leaf and Yard Waste Composting Site on 28th Avenue East – north of 20th Street.
The compost site will be open from dawn to dusk from Boxing Day to January 15th.
Christmas Trees must have all the decorations and tinsel taken off the tree before it can be added to the brush pile to be composted.
The City is thanking the members of the Branch 6 Legion for the many years they have provided this service to residents of Owen Sound.
